Media - It's how we grow the sport of Softball in Liverpool

Softball has a long standing history in the UK reaching back to WW2.  The Americans who were stationed in the UK brought their bats and balls and the game took off.

As a result during the 50s there were a number of baseball/softball teams in Sefton and Merseyside.

However, the game declined over the years...

The Manchester Softball league was started in 1992 and has developed into a 4 division structure that is ever growing.  Many players from the Sefton area travel to Manchester to play and in 2011 BSUK held some camps to establish the game at grass roots.

In 2013 we had enough players to enter a team into a cup competition and to host a mini-tournament.

We are looking to increase our numbers and we have spent time promoting the game via the media having articles published in the Liverpool Echo and other newspapers.  We also use social media like Twitter and Facebook.

Finally, you may see our leaflets and banners in the area.
